Public records, with the provenance left intact.

FreshCarrier makes federal motor-carrier registration data easier to work with. It does not replace the official record or your own verification.

Effective September 4, 2026

01

Official source

FreshCarrier retrieves records from the U.S. Department of Transportation's public Motor Carrier Registrations Census Files , dataset identifier az4n-8mr2. The source is published through the DOT public data portal.

FreshCarrier is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of FMCSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or any carrier appearing in the data.

02

What FreshCarrier changes

FreshCarrier transforms source rows into a focused prospecting workspace. Processing may include:

  • standardizing dates, phone numbers, email fields, company names, and locations;
  • mapping source indicators into carrier class, operating type, fleet, and cargo filters;
  • identifying the newest release that meets operational completeness and stability checks; and
  • updating records by USDOT number to avoid duplicate carrier profiles.
03

What “latest complete” means

“Latest complete” is FreshCarrier's operational label for a source date that passes the product's row-count and repeated-observation checks. It is not an official FMCSA certification. Publication timing varies, and FMCSA may later add, revise, or remove records.

04

Accuracy and verification

Source data may be missing, delayed, outdated, entered incorrectly, or changed after FreshCarrier imports it. Normalization can also introduce mistakes. Contact details, authority, fleet size, cargo indicators, and operating status should be verified against current official records before making an important business, insurance, underwriting, compliance, or safety decision.

FreshCarrier is not a substitute for the FMCSA Company Snapshot , Licensing and Insurance records, or professional advice.

05

Contact and outreach responsibility

A record being public does not automatically authorize every kind of call, text, or email. Users are responsible for applicable telemarketing, do-not-call, consent, privacy, advertising, licensing, and industry rules, as well as honoring opt-out requests. FreshCarrier provides data and workflow tools, not permission to contact any person.

06

Corrections

The carrier or its authorized representative must update the official government record through FMCSA. If FreshCarrier differs from the current source, send the USDOT number and field at issue through the support page. We can investigate the FreshCarrier copy, but we cannot edit the underlying federal record.
